Seth Appert is an American ice hockey coach who currently serves as an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on May 6, 1974, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
Appert played college hockey at Ferris State University before transitioning to coaching. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Denver and then served as head coach at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) from 2006 to 2017.
During his time at RIT, Appert led the team to the NCAA Frozen Four in 2010, where they advanced to the national championship game. He was named the Atlantic Hockey Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2015.
In 2017, Appert joined the coaching staff of the United States National Team Development Program (NTDP) before being hired as an assistant coach with the Sabres in 2020.
Appert is known for his coaching acumen and ability to develop young players. He is highly respected in the hockey community and has a track record of success at every level of the game.
